Now, it’s not like everyone in the bay area is like that, but, it’s true, most people are.

This conversation is entirely inappropriate for a forum intended for learning and has tones of misogyny. As a woman taking this class I’m shocked by this thread as well as the professor’s engagement.

Former and current students of the embattled professor claim this isn’t the first time he has made offensive, misogynistic comments. A junior at the school said she avoided taking a class with Shewchuk because she was uncomfortable based on prior conduct she heard about, along with a “transphobic joke on his website,” according to the Daily Cal.

Last May, a UC Berkeley professor apologized after claiming to be Native American all her life and breaking the trust she had with the Native communities.
Just, why? Honestly, I find it kind of amazing anything productive goes on in these campuses.
Naturally, he capitulates, because don’t expect free expression. If you sincerely expect that then, I’m sorry, you’re just an idiot. Now, you should only do this if you have some sort of financial stake in it. If not, then you should really never be giving the Karens an inch. Should just mercilessly mock them.
I don’t even really get the criticism that going to a foreign country to find a wife is exploitative. If it was so exploitative then why do some girls jump at the opportunity? Not like anybody is forcing her to. She gets a green card and better life, you get a nice and caring wife. Granted you don’t treat her badly, she’s somebody who’ll actually appreciate not just you but the lifestyle people in America have, Americans just take it for granted, and act like this.
No! What do you mean you don’t like this? What do you mean you don’t want to listen to her constant whining about everything under the sun? What do you mean you don’t want to get scammed of half your money? What do you mean you don’t want to be put in a court with a judge that looks just like her? You’re not allowed to think that!
